  1. Hi, I am hoping to join the duke of Lancs or the rifles in the British army. I am only 16 at this moment in time and I was wondering how you join as a junior and what time I have to run the 2.4k in, I saw that it was 14 minuets but I would just like to confirm that with you. Also what is the latest age I could join as a junior? Many thanks, please try and get back to me asap! :)

    • Hi Daniel, thanks for your email.

      Here is the answer to your questions;

      “To join as a soldier you have to be at least 16, but can apply from 15 years and 7 months. If you’re under 18 you need your parents’ or guardians’ permission and start your training with courses that mix education, soldier training and sport.”

      If you would like more information or to take the next step, you will need to visit your local recruitment office or can apply online. Here is the link on the Army website: http://www.army.mod.uk/join/20173.aspx

      Good Luck!
